wifi (ok this isnt tricky, its just funny. en france on dit "le weeee-feee")
"tu connais 'sex & the city?' "
-"comment???"
" sex an ze see-tee?"
-"ah oui! je l'aime bien!"
i blame globalization.

They say "wifi" in Spain and Hungary too! Well, in Hungarian it's more like "veefee" than "weefee," because the "w" sound is unknown, but the Spanish is probably pretty much the same as the French.
ReplyDeleteDo they have Ikea in France? I'd guess it's not pronounced like a new Apple product there either...
And yes about globalization. Although on the bright side, McDonalds here in Spain is a lot nicer than anywhere in the U.S...
they do have Ikea...I've seen people passing out promotional materials for it, but I've never heard a french person pronounce the name. I'm guessing it's something like "ee-key-uh"
